Approach or Philosophy of Care:
My approach to pediatric urology is rooted in compassion, trust, and partnership with both children and their families. I strive to create a welcoming, supportive environment where patients feel safe and understood. With young patients, I tailor my language to their age and developmental level, whether that means using simple explanations, visual aids, or even a bit of humor to ease anxiety. For parents and caregivers, I prioritize transparency and education, making sure they feel informed, empowered, and confident in the care plan. I always encourage questions and aim to create a space where families feel like active participants in their child’s health journey.
I take a gentle, patient-centered approach, which is especially important in urology, by moving at the child’s pace and explaining each step along the way. I also emphasize prevention and education, empowering families with the knowledge they need to support their child’s long-term health. I believe in caring for the whole child, recognizing the emotional impact that urologic concerns can have on confidence and well-being.
Additional Notes:
I earned my Doctorate in Nursing Practice, where I implemented a quality improvement project within the hospital system I previously worked in, focused on enhancing patient care and outcomes. I remain committed to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional growth.
Outside of medicine, I have a passion for travel and adventure. Exploring new places and cultures has broadened my perspective and strengthened my ability to connect with families from diverse backgrounds. Whether it’s discovering a new city, spending time outdoors, or seeking out unique experiences, I value opportunities that challenge me to grow both personally and professionally. These experiences enrich my practice by fostering adaptability, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the individuality of each patient and family I serve.
