Approach or Philosophy of Care:
My philosophy of care is rooted in the principles of the Hippocratic Oath and in a sincere commitment to advocating for my patients. I believe that being a physician is both a privilege and a responsibility, particularly in pediatric urology, where medical care often involves long-term relationships with children and their families and addresses conditions that can be sensitive and emotionally challenging.
I communicate with patients and their families in a warm, approachable manner, similar to how I would with my own friends and loved ones. I strive to create a safe and trusting environment where families feel comfortable asking questions and expressing concerns. In the exam room, I prioritize making children feel at ease and respected. When a child is anxious or upset, I use age-appropriate, playful distractions such as balloon gloves, stickers, or small rewards, to help reduce fear and build trust.
I strongly believe in preventive care, early diagnosis, and family education, which are essential components of pediatric urology. I take pride in ensuring that parents and patients understand their child’s condition, treatment options, and goals. I am a visual educator and frequently use diagrams and images to explain anatomy, surgical procedures, and treatment plans in a clear and accessible way, empowering families to actively participate in decision-making.
My inspiration comes from the resilience of my young patients, who remind me every day that miracles exist; from the strength and unconditional love of their parents, and from my mentors, who taught me that compassionate, high-quality pediatric urologic care can make a lasting difference in a child’s health and quality of life, regardless of where that care is delivered.
